What Is A Wick-less Candle?
A wick-less candle is simply that, wick-less. How does it melt without a wick & flame? Simply with the heat of a light bulb. Scentsy warmers are a ceramic pot with lid that are shaped, styled, and decorated beautifully to match any style. A Scentsy light bulb is placed inside the warmer so that the warmer functions like a lamp, with an on/off switch. Wax sections from Scentsy bars are placed in the lid. When the light bulb is turned on it heats up the lid which in turn, melts the wax & releases the fragrance into your home. With over 100 warmers & 80 Scents, you are sure to find decor & fragrances to fit your style.
Scentsy Wick-less Candles Are Safe!
Before I met Scentsy, I almost never burned candles. I would forget to blow them out & then panic when I returned home to find a candle still lit. Scary! I was so worried that one of my little children would get burned or start the house on fire. You know how little children are drawn to flame. Little did I know that soot & wax was collecting on my walls, furniture, curtains or the fact that we were BREATHING it! Why didn’t anyone ever tell me this? Well, someone did 3 years ago, & that someone was Scentsy! I was sold. I leave my warmers on all the time. They are so safe because there is no flame, it is just like leaving a lamp on. The highest bulb wattage used is 25 watts which melts the wax slowly, maximizing its fragrance time. The wax is never melted at a high enough temperature to burn or evaporate into the air. The wax stays in the lid of the Scentsy Warmer, only the fragrance evaporates. That means you are not breathing wax! I still can’t get over that. A recent revolution in regular candles is to use soy wax. People may think soy wax is safer, but the wax still evaporates. I personally don’t want to breathe any wax, soy or not, so I will keep loving my Scentsy & breathe NO wax. As a nurse with an asthmatic son,Scentsy will always be in our home! Did I mention that fire fighters LOVE Scentsy! How could they not? Did you know that the National Candle Association says there are 18,000 fires caused by candles annually in the United States. Wow! Let’s help Scentsy decrease this number…You get no match, no wick, no flame, & no soot with Scentsy Wick-less Candles! Spread the wick-less phenomena.
How Did Scentsy Start?
Read The Scentsy Story & Be Inspired The Scentsy story began in 2003 with the simple idea of melting scented wax by the heat of a light bulb instead of a wick and flame. Kara and Colette were two stay at home moms in Utah that created the idea & Scentsy was born. They started selling Scentsy at retail shops & boutiques. To help more people learn about Scentsy, they also started selling at home shows and home parties. This is where current Scentsy CEO, Orville Thompson was introduced to the wick-less candle concept. Orville took the testers home to his wife, Heidi, where Heidi, in turn invited her mother & sister over to see them too. Orville left the house & when he returned he was amazed to find Heidi and her family laughing & sharing memories, just from smelling scented wax testers! It was then, that Orville knew there was HUGE potential for Scentsy. Heidi & Orville bought the company from Kara & Colette in 2004, even though they were $700,000 in debt. They started running Scentsy in a 40 foot ocean container on their Idaho sheep farm. With so much debt they couldn't start anywhere else. With the help of family & friends, Scentsy started to grow. It has come a long way since then, becoming one of the most successful direct selling companies in the industry. Scentsy now employs over 500 employees & has over 150,000 consultants. Orville & Heidi are not in debt any longer & encourage all of their consultants to stay out of debt! When they launched Scentsy, Orville and Heidi determined from the beginning to build their business around core virtues of Simplicity, Authenticity, and Generosity. The basis for Scentsy’s business philosophy comes from a quote by Albert Einstein—a quote that so inspired Orville as a young man he kept it posted on his bedroom wall: “Try not to become a man of success. Rather, become a man of value. A successful man takes out of life more than he puts in. A man of value will give more than he receives.” And this is where Scentsy is today.
